The Lucky Ones - Drunk Punk Empty
PostSubject: The Lucky Ones - Drunk Punk   The Lucky Ones - Drunk Punk I_icon_minitime24/6/2011, 5:57 pm

Hi everyone - this will be the last thread I post here asking people what they think of a band - I realize this isn't really the purpose of this message board unless we're talking about shows in London. Back in March I saw the Lucky Ones open for Black Lungs, and I agree with them calling their music drunk punk, with most of their songs about drinking and their first album called "the Booze Sessions". I'd never heard of Steve Stumble (their vocalist) before and I found out that he's a big deal in the southwestern Ontario punk scene - I met him and he told me all about Stumble Records, and I bought a sampler CD. I think the Lucky Ones have only been around for about 2 years. They're from st. catharines, and played at least a couple of shows at call the office last year which I never heard about beforehand. I'm wondering what everyone thinks of the Lucky Ones - if you've never heard of them check them out at http://www.myspace.com/theluckyonespunk. Apparently their 2nd album is coming out soon. Cheers.

Hey! I'm happy that someone else out there appreciated the Lucky Ones as much as I do myself.

I've known of Steve Stumble and Stumble Records for a little while now, I used to be really into Psychobilly thus giving me every reason to love that record label. There is a festival in Niagara Falls every year (used to be in St. Kitts) called the Hotrod Hootenanny put on by Stumble Records and it's GREAT. Seriously fun, I've been 3 or 4 years now. Back on topic of the Lucky Ones though, I just saw them for the first time in March at a show put on by Rebel Time Records called Rebel Fest. They were so awesome, Steve is insane!! Haha. Definitely a band worth checking out, I'm glad you brought them up! <3

i think they are decent. my band Stay Home played with them opening for the black lungs. they seem like they are going for a stripped down bouncing souls sorta of sound which i dig alot. hopefully they will play around here more.
